Roberto Harrington A. is a partner at our Corporate/M&A Department, and also devotes a significant amount of his time advising on highly complex project finance operations.
Roberto is valued by his wide range of clients for providing commercial, pragmatic and sound business advice. His clients include both domestic and international banks, financial institutions and brokerages. Roberto’s abilities include leading complex due diligence processes in financial transactions, representing borrowers and lenders on project finance deals, and advising large multilateral financial institutions on public and private borrowing.
Roberto holds a Law and Political Sciences degree (with honours) from the Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua and a Master of Laws from the University of Texas at Austin Law School gaining the Dean Achievement Award (Business Associates). He also has a Tax Diploma from the Universidad Especializada del Contador Público Autorizado (UNESCPA) gaining First Place of Honour. During the year before joining AFRA in 2006, Roberto worked as Legal Fellow with the Inter-American Investment Corporation of the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC.
His expertise is recognised by the legal community who acknowledge his level of skill with recommendations by Chambers and Partners for his work in banking and finance as well as in corporate and M&A work. His level of involvement in his commercial work is endorsed by his peers who refer to him as “a fantastic lawyer.” Roberto’s work in these fields is also commended by the Legal 500.
Outside of the firm, Roberto is a member of the Panama Bar Association.
