Marycarmen González is an Associate at the firm’s Intellectual Property Department, specializing in assessment and work involving industrial property, intellectual property, information technology, especially in Data Privacy and E-Commerce, and assessing and managing Life Sciences and Health Regulatory & Compliance clients.
Her experience in these areas is broad and includes representing clients in trademarks and patents prosecution, IP judicial protection, trademark protection actions and foreign trademark portfolio management. Marycarmen also advises on cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and medical devices health permits and registrations, and provides complete legal services to clients on regulatory requirements. She also represents clients in consumer protection claims and provides legal advised and regulatory compliance regarding Data Privacy, Personal Data Protection and E-Commerce.
Prior to joining AFRA, Marycarmen was a Legal Assistant in AFRA until 2013 and worked as a trainee at Baker & McKenzie (Madrid, Spain) during 2017 in their Intellectual Property Department.
Marycarmen is member of the Panamanian Association of Intellectual Property (APADEPI), Women in the Profession Association (WIP) and actively participates in diverse committees such as Health and Digital Economy for the American Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Panama (AMCHAM) and International Chamber of Commerce of Panama (ICC).
