Juan Gabriel González Saavedra is a Partner in our Labor Law Department.
With his in-depth knowledge of these complex legal areas, Juan Gabriel advises our clients on both litigation and non-judiciary employment disputes, employment contracts, strategic planning, day-to-day employment concerns and union disputes.
Juan Gabriel was admitted to practice law in 1994 after graduating in Law and Political Sciences from Universidad Nacional de Panama in 1991. He obtained his Master of Laws in Commercial Law in 1998 from the Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua.
Juan Gabriel’s professional affiliations include the Panama Bar Association, the Panamanian Association of Business Executives and the Panamanian Academy of Labor and Social Security Law. He has been Professor of Labor Law and Social Security Law at Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua, and he is actively involved in providing legal updates to public and private companies. Between 2005 and 2009, he was assigned by the Ministry of the President to the Board of Appeals and Decisions for Civil Service. Juan Gabriel’s leadership was proven when he was voted President of the Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE), an office he held from 2016-2017.
Juan Gabriel was nominated by his peers as one of the world’s leading labor practitioners, and such nomination resulted on him being included as a Labor & Employment Leader Practitioner on the 2018 Who’s Who Legal Publication.
