Juan Antonio Alfaro is a Partner in our Corporate/M&A Department. Juan Antonio also devotes a significant amount of his time on maritime and port concessions.
Juan Antonio regularly acts for clients with operations under special regimes such as SEM, free zones, Colon Free Zone, Panama Pacífico and City of Knowledge. Juan Antonio also advises clients in the hydrocarbon and energy sector on the day-to-day matters of corporate law including regulatory and transactional work, with an emphasis on petroleum free zone operations. Juan Antonio has attained substantial experience representing clients in the maritime and port sector before the Maritime Authority of Panama.
Juan Antonio’s experience also includes doing transactional work for clients in real estate development and commercial projects, as well as advising on contracts and administrative permits.
Having gained his Law and Political Sciences degree from the Universidad Católica Santa María la Antigua, Juan Antonio attained his Master of Laws from Northwestern University Law School.
Juan is a member of the Panama Bar Association, the Hydrocarbons Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) and the British Chamber of Commerce (BRITCHAM). He is on the Board of Directors of Grupo San Lorenzo, a family business involved in real estate development.
