Profile

Rosa is an Associate in the Labor Department of the firm.

She specializes in assisting clients in the daily management of labor relations and provides support in the implementation of disciplinary measures, incentives, staff training, negotiation, and termination agreements. Additionally, Rosa handles procedural follow-ups before jurisdictional bodies at the national level, including lawsuits before the Conciliation and Decision Boards, Labor Courts, the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development, Regional Directorates, and the Supreme Court of Justice.

Rosa’s client base includes individuals and local entities, such as financial institutions, manufacturing companies, industrial firms, pharmaceuticals, clinics and hospitals, restaurant chain franchises and maritime transportation companies.She interacts with management personnel at both national and international levels.

Her skills extend to advising administrative personnel within companies, ensuring the resolution of individual or collective conflicts before the filing of judicial and/or administrative labor claims. Rosa acts as legal counsel in labor proceedings, handling claims related to unjustified dismissal, acquired rights, dismissal authorizations for workers protected by the various rights recognized under Panamanian legislation, salary discrepancies, and more. She also manages claims and procedures before the Social Security Administration, providing expertadvice to achieve satisfactory results and successful negotiations while safeguarding our clients' interests.

Additionally, Rosa is responsible for reviewing and updating Internal Regulations and analyzing Collective Agreement clauses, among other responsibilities.

For over 14 years, she served as the Presiding Judge of the Conciliation and Decision Boards, which are administratively attached to the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development and jurisdictionally to the Judicial Branch, in the provinces of Panama and Panama Oeste.

This tenure allowed her to gain extensive expertise in handling and resolving labor disputes, as well as in procedural management and broad negotiations involving business sectors and workers’ union organizations.

Additionally, she has held a position as a Professor of Labor Law at the Universidad del Istmo.

She has also fulfilled the role of Human Resources and Legal Manager in private companies.
