Marycarmen is an Associate in the firm's Intellectual Property Department.
Before becoming an AFRA associate, Marycarmen worked as a Legal Assistant at the firm until 2013. Afterward, she gained international exposure as an intern at Baker & McKenzie in Madrid, Spain, from 2016 to 2017. During this period, she pursued her Master's Degree in Intellectual and Industrial Property and Information Technology.
Marycarmen specializes in assisting clients in matters related to intellectual and industrial property and information technology. Specifically, she provides advice and conducts audits in Privacy, Data Protection, and E-commerce. In addition, she is responsible for advising, managing, and handling regulatory aspects related to health registrations and permits for the food and beverage industry, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and others related to human health.
Her extensive experience includes asset portfolio management both in Panama and internationally. Additionally, Marycarmen is responsible for managing Industrial Property litigation and processing sanitary permits for the commercialization of regulated products.
