Alfredo has been a member of our Commercial Department since 2015 and a partner since 2025.
He initially joined the firm as a paralegal while pursuing his university studies in Law and Political Science. Over the years, Alfredo has advised a significant number of clients, ranging from local companies to multinationals, on various domestic and cross-border matters.
Her experience spans several areas, including mergers and acquisitions, project finance, corporate law, regulatory and competition matters, and real estate transactions.
- He advised Global Bank Corporation on the restructuring of the existing obligations of Saltos del Francoli, S.A., a hydroelectric power plant located in Rio David, Chiriqui.
- He advised DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (DEG) regarding the US $25MM Loan Agreement between Banco La Hipotecaria, S.A. and La Hipotecaria, S.A. de C.V. (as borrowers) and DEG.
- He advised DEG regarding the unsecured loan of US $ 15MM to BCT Bank.
- He advised Financiera El Sol on the process of portfolio securitization for over US $350MM by a local financial institution.
- He represented the Commercial Communications Group as local counsel in the acquisition of McCann Erickson's operations in Panama and Costa Rica.
- He advised Grupo Arrocha and Grupo A/F Diunsa on the acquisition of 100% of the outstanding shares of Importadora Maduro, S.A., owner of Félix B. Maduro, one of the leading retail stores in Panama.
- I acted as counsel for the sellers in the sale of Balboa Academy, S.A. to Inspired Education Holdings Limited
- He acted as local counsel to VT Group (Verenigde Tankrederij BV) in the leveraged buyout of the bunkering activities in mainland Spain, Morocco, the Canary Islands, Trinidad and Tobago, and Panama (Balboa, Cristóbal); and assets of Boluda Corporación Marítima (Boluda), the sector leader in Spain with an annual fuel supply capacity of over 12 million tons and commercial assets including 11 tankers managed in Spain and 4 managed from the Panama office.
- Represented a Boston-based emerging markets investment fund in the acquisition of approximately 9,200 hectares in the provinces of Darien and Panama, including approximately 7,000 hectares of planted teak.
- I acted as local counsel for Kingsland Holdings Limited as the Independent Third Party appointed by United Airlines Inc. in Avianca Holdings S.A., in a proceeding initiated by United to protect its rights as a creditor of BRW Aviation LLC under a loan granted by United and secured by shares of Avianca Holdings S.A.
